SB 590, PN 566 (Tomlinson) – Amends the State-Owned University Intellectual Property Act to clarify and correct an error in the original act, 132 of 2012, where the sections pertaining to “repeal and effective” dates were mistakenly excluded in Purdon’s Pennsylvania Statutes thus not legally allowing intellectual property at state-owned universities to be properly exploited. A vote of 48-0 was recorded.
SB 861, PN 978 (White) – Senate Bill 861 amends Chapter 17 of Title 75 (Vehicles), to clarify the priority of insurance coverage in situations involving auto dealership “loaner” vehicles. A vote of 48-0 was recorded.
SR 148, PN1043 (Scavello) – This resolutions calls on Congress to pass H.R. 563, the Merchant Marine Equity Compensation Fund. H.R. 563 directs the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide benefits to certain individuals who served in the Merchant Marines during WW II. The compensation is a onetime payment of $25,000 to each surviving WW II Merchant Marine (Currently, there are fewer than 5,000 surviving). The resolution was adopted.
