HB 595, PN 627 (Brown) – Amends Title 68 (Real and Personal Property) to allow condo and cooperative the ability to seek assistance and investigation from the Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection in the event of a violation by the declarant or the association in regards to a meeting, quorums, voting, proxies and association records occurring within these communities. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 653, PN 1374 (Browne) – This bill allows for further consolidation of the collection of local, non-real estate taxes. Senator Browne offered amendment A06840 which authorizes the consolidated collection of 511 taxes except the following: property taxes, business privilege or mercantile tax if municipality adopts a resolution within the effective date of the act, payroll preparation taxes. The amendment was approved 50-0 and the bill went over in its order.

SB 742, PN 1162 (Greenleaf) – The bill amends the Sexual Assault Testing and Evidence Collection Act to provide for rights of sexual assault victims. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

HB 866, PN 972 (Dunbar) – Amends the Local Tax Enabling Act to clarify certain provisions related to the consolidated collection of local income taxes and delinquent taxes. A vote of 44-6 was recorded.

SB 915, PN 1534 (Greenleaf) – Amends Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) to provide for criminal trespass on critical infrastructure facilities. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 916, PN 1535 (Greenleaf) – Amends Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) to expand access to DNA testing for exoneration. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 1071, PN 1555 (Greenleaf) – Amends Titles 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) and 61 (Prisons and Parole) reflecting suggestions from the Justice Reinvestment Working Group. Senator Langerholc offered amendment A06463 which removes provisions relating to “short sentence parole”. The amendment failed by a vote of 25-26 with the President also voting against the amendment. The bill went over in its order.

SB 1078, PN 1560 (Tomlinson) –  This bill amends Title 65 (Public Officers) to allow state and local agencies to discuss security measures during executive session. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 1090, PN 1583 (Corman) – Amends Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) and Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) to create the offenses of hazing, aggravated hazing, institutional hazing, and organizational hazing. Senator Corman offered amendment A06845 which adds the definition of “Alcoholic Liquid” and makes other technical changes. The amendment was approved 50-0 and the bill went over in its order.

SB 1003, PN 1389 (White) – Amends the Insurance Company Law to require emergency medical service agencies be reimbursed for services whether or not transport to a hospital occurs. Senator White offered amendment A06255 which removes the requirement that emergency services be medically necessary. It also clarifies that all copayments, coinsurance and deductibles apply. The amendment was approved 50-0 and the bill went over in its order.
