HB 267, PN 226 (Metcalfe) – This criminalizes the offense of theft of secondary metal, which is defined as “wire, pipe or cable commonly used by communications, gas, water, wastewater and electrical utilities and railroads and mass transit or commuter rail agencies, copper, aluminum or other metal, or a combination of metals, that is valuable for recycling or reuse as raw material.” A vote of 49-0 was recorded. Senator Costa motioned that the Senate reconsider the vote on HB 267. The motion was approved. The vote on final passage was 45-4.
SB 332, PN 330 (Yaw) – This legislation would make it a summary offense to smoke in any vehicle that is transporting a child under the age of 12. Senator Gordner offered amendment A01555, which excludes the use of electric cigarettes from such punishment. The amendment passed, 38-11. The bill was laid upon the table, and then placed upon the active calendar again.
SB 496, PN 496 (Scavello) – Amends Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) to authorize evaluations for gambling disorders for those who are convicted of criminal trespass at a gaming facility after self-excluding from such facilities. A vote of 49-0 was recorded.
