HB 67, PN 3419:  This bill amends the Vehicle Code by limiting how many passengers “junior drivers” would be allowed to have in their vehicle as well as prohibit these drivers from using an interactive wireless communications device while driving unless it is to contact the 511 system or 911 emergency calls.  Senator Rafferty offered amendment A07047 which prohibits junior drivers from driving a vehicle with more than 1 passenger under the age of 18 without being accompanied by a parent if the junior driver has been involved in an accident for which he/she was fully or particularly responsible or if convicted of a violation of the Vehicle Code among other changes.  The Senate agreed to the amendment.  Senator Wozniak offered amendment A06773 that changes the current language prohibiting cell phone use from a primary offense to a secondary offense.  It applies to junior drivers only.  A vote of 33-14 was recorded on the amendment.

SB 1026, PN 1961:  The bill amends Title 34 (Game) by creating an Elk Tag Conservation Committee (committee) to select a wildlife conservation organization to auction off a special “Elk Conservation Tag”.  A vote of 47-0 was recorded.

SB 1176, PN 1585:  This bill amends the Surface Mining and Conservation and Reclamation Act to provide that fees under the act may be adjusted by regulations promulgated by the Environmental Quality Board.  A vote of 47-0 was recorded.

SB 1196, PN 1601:   This bill amends the Bituminous Mine Subsidence and Land Conservation Act to provide that fees under the act may be adjusted by regulations promulgated by the Environmental Quality Board.  A vote of 47-0 was recorded.

SB 1197, PN 1602:   This bill amends the Coal Refuse Disposal Control Act to provide that fees under the act may be adjusted by regulations promulgated by the Environmental Quality Board.  A vote of 47-0 was recorded.
