SB 1030, PN 1365:  The legislation amends the Unemployment Compensation Law by increasing the amount of credit weeks a claimant must have to be eligible for unemployment compensation benefits as well as the payment threshold.  The bill also requires that an employee must be making an active search for employment as well as register into the PA CareerLink System in order to receive unemployment benefits.  Furthermore, the bill increases the Commonwealth’s look-back period from two to three years allowing for extended unemployment benefits through 2011 among other aspects.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded.
