SB 24, PN 1795 (Vulakovich) – This bill amends Title 23 (Domestic Relations) to further provide definitions, investigation and reporting.  The Senate concurred in House amendments to the bill by a vote of 48-0.

HB 431, PN 3179 (Gingrich) – The bill amends the Child Protective Services Law by requiring child abuse recognition and reporting training.  A vote of 48-0 was recorded.

HB 436, PN 2723 (Stephens) – This legislation amends Title 23 (Domestic Relations) to clarify and expand the list of mandated reporters of suspected child abuse and increase the penalties for failing to report.  Senator Ward offered amendment A06424 which clearifies and further provides for privileged communications between a mandated reporter and a patient or client.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over in its order as amended.

SB 1107, PN 1754 (Alloway) – This bill Amends the Act of December 7, 1982 (P.L. 784 No. 225) known as the “Dog Law” to add a definition for “immediate family” and prohibit an immediate family member from obtaining a kennel license if a member of the immediate family has had a license revoked due to a animal cruelty violation.  Senator Alloway offered amendment A06427 which provides an exception if the immediate family member can prove that the violator will have no interest in the kennel.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over in its order as amended.

SR 321, PN 1844 (Pileggi) – This resolution provides for a temporary rule of the Senate, which would rule out of order certain amendments to General Appropriation Bills for the fiscal year 2014-2015.  The resolution was adopted by the Senate.
