The Cost of Inaction – Property Reassessments
Monday, July 15, 2024 | 1:00 PM
On July 15, Senators Muth and Fontana will hold a hearing on the current system of property reassessment in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania’s tax system relies heavily on the assessed values of property. However, 50 of the 67 counties have not done a reassessment in the last 15 years. Pennsylvania has become the example of how not to administer a reassessment system. This hearing will explore how the commonwealth’s dysfunctional property reassessment system is burdening local government, complicating school district budgets, and costing taxpayers money.
This hearing will be at the Allegheny County Courthouse | Gold Room 4th Floor with a virtual option.
