
PHILADELPHIA, PA − December 5, 2025 – Senator Sharif Street is proud support Lab Charter’s new initiative to expand digital access across the 19140 community through the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA) Digital Connectivity Technology Program (DCTP). Today, with the help of elected officials, they distributed laptops to places in need.
This grant and community initiative would not have been possible without the support and leadership of State Senator Sharif Street, State Representative Danilo Burgos, Councilwoman Cindy Bass, and Councilman Jeffery Young Jr.

As part of this program, Lab Charter has secured 140 new laptops to distribute to local organizations, including:
- Community-based nonprofits
- Churches
- Daycares
- Community centers
- Additional neighborhood organizations serving the 19140 community
This initiative represents a meaningful step toward closing the digital divide and uplifting communities through expanded access to technology and opportunity.
