BATH, PA − October 15, 2015 − State Senator Nick Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton) participated in a tour with Trey Deichman, a farmer in Bath, PA to showcase the first-generation farmer experience. This tour highlighted the daily routine and realities of beginning a career in agriculture.
“This visit aimed to showcase the important efforts of farmers like Trey, who are entering the agriculture industry despite the decreasing number of newcomers and the challenges of running a farm,” said Senator Miller. “Trey, along with many other regional farmers, play a vital role in our community and preserving its rich agricultural heritage. I take pride in supporting and encouraging the next generation of farmers by experiencing a day in their lives and bringing this perspective with me to Harrisburg.”
Trey Deichman emphasized during the visit that his dream has been to manage and operate a family farm full-time with his wife and children by his side.
