April 16, 2026 – Senator Nick Miller (D–Lehigh/Northampton) announced a $700,000 Community Revitalization Fund award for The Studios at 930 in downtown Allentown. This funding will help repurpose a vacant, historic 37,000-square-foot manufacturing building. The program, established in the FY16/17 budget, aims to leverage public and private resources for developing mixed-use projects in Pennsylvania’s commercial corridors.

The redevelopment will convert the upper three floors into 16 residential units, including six affordable units restricted to households earning up to 80% AMI for a period of 20 years.

“Today’s announcement enhances our downtown by introducing another affordable housing option for residents right in the heart of the City,” said Senator Miller. “Transforming this historic but vacant building into artist studios and a gallery will create a vibrant new space for residents to gather, create, and interact with art. This project not only addresses the need for affordable housing but also supports the local economy, creating jobs during construction and ongoing opportunities for local entrepreneurs to find a new home.”

Investment includes:

  • $700,000 to The Studios at 930, which involves repurposing a historic 37,000-square-foot former manufacturing building in downtown Allentown. Developed by Relix Property Group and ArtsQuest, the project aims to transform the site into a mixed-use, mixed-income development that combines housing, arts, and culture, ensuring downtown investment benefits all income levels.
