Harrisburg, Pa. − December 9, 2025 − Senator Lindsey M. Williams, Minority Chair of the Senate Education Committee, issues this statement following the Senate confirmation of the Honorable Carrie Rowe, Ed.D. as Secretary of Education:
“I am excited to congratulate Secretary Rowe on her well-deserved Senate confirmation today. As the Minority Chair of the Senate Education Committee, I have worked closely with Secretary Rowe, both in her previous role as a Deputy Secretary, and over the last year in her role as Acting Secretary. During that time, she has led with courage and empathy and displayed a deep commitment to public education, characteristics that our students deserve to see in their public officials.
Since her nomination, I have met with Secretary Rowe monthly to discuss education policy and various issues facing our Commonwealth’s students and educators. These meetings have been extremely valuable to me and my school districts, thanks to Secretary Rowe’s experience and willingness to collaborate.
I look forward to continuing to work with Secretary Rowe to ensure that every student in Pennsylvania has access to a contemporary system of public education that is well-resourced, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of all students.”
