Senator Kearney

MEDIA, PA – November 20, 2025 – The Delaware County District Attorney’s Office recently announced charges against Lawrence (Larry) Arata, executive director of the Opioid Crisis Action Network, for allegedly exploiting his position to victimize vulnerable women.

In the wake of this news, Senator Tim Kearney (D-Delaware) released the following statement:

“I am stunned and deeply troubled by the allegations against Larry Arata. No one seeking help in recovery should ever be taken advantage of, and I stand firmly with the victims who bravely came forward. They deserve compassion, protection, and justice and I trust our local law enforcement agency to pursue this case thoroughly and work toward the justice these victims deserve.

“I want to thank District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer and his office for their thorough investigation and commitment to accountability. Their work ensures that those who exploit vulnerable people are held responsible.

“Everyone seeking help should feel safe and supported, and we need to make sure our recovery services truly reflect that. As an elected official, I remain committed to supporting the agencies responsible for oversight and to strengthening the recovery services that so many in our community depend on.”
