Delaware County, PA – October 22, 2024 – State Senator Tim Kearney (D-Delaware) today announced a total of $11,225,226 in state grants for nearly two dozen projects in Delaware County. The funding was awarded Tuesday afternoon by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED).
Of the $11.2 million awarded, more than $6.5 million is going toward 16 projects thanks to the Local Share Account (LSA) – Statewide grant program, and nearly $4.7 million is going toward seven projects thanks to the Public School Facilities Improvement Grant Program (PSFIG). LSA – Statewide grants support projects in the public interest within the commonwealth; PSFIG provides grants to public school districts and area career and technical schools for eligible facility improvement projects.
“I am grateful for the Shapiro Administration and the grant opportunities it makes available throughout the year: these funds are making real, tangible impacts across Delco and the commonwealth,” said Senator Kearney. “I’m excited to see our communities improve vital infrastructure and for our schools to get much needed funding to become safer, healthier places for our students to learn and grow. I’m particularly grateful for my partnerships with my PA House colleagues from Delaware County, Representatives Borowski, Boyd, Curry, Delloso and O’Mara, who all played a part in securing this much-needed funding.”
