Senator Amanda Cappelletti

Haverford, PA October 14, 2025 – Senator Amanda M. Cappelletti (D-17 Delaware/Montgomery) was proud to welcome hundreds of aging adults in District 17 to her annual Senior Fair on Thursday, October 9 at the Haverford YMCA.

The event featured dozens of local vendors offering valuable services and information to support healthy aging. Participants included senior centers, Medicare enrollment specialists, Delaware County agencies, Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon, and more.

“Our seniors deserve straightforward access to the tools that allow them to age with dignity here in Pennsylvania,” Senator Cappelletti said. “This Senior Fair is always an excellent opportunity to bring helpful services directly to our neighbors, and I was thrilled to spend the afternoon engaging with folks to ensure they have the assistance they need.”

Throughout the event, Eric’s RX Shoppe distributed 301 vaccinations on-site, including Flu, COVID-19, and RSV vaccines.

“In this age of constant and deliberate misinformation coming from our federal leaders in Washington, I’m proud to provide a space where some of our most vulnerable neighbors can access lifesaving vaccinations with confidence and ease,” Senator Cappelletti said.

As a public health professional and a proud member of the Pennsylvania Pharmacy Caucus, Senator Cappelletti continues to encourage Pennsylvanians – especially older adults – to keep following trusted public health information from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and other reputable sources.

“Instead of falling victim to campaigns of misinformation, what we can do is continue to support the science, listen to the real experts, educate ourselves, and work together to keep one another safe and healthy,” Senator Cappelletti said. “Our vaccine clinic was a powerful way for us to come together on the ground and take action to promote healthy communities. I encourage everyone to consult their trusted healthcare providers and make a plan to get vaccinated this fall.”

Guests enjoyed light refreshments during the event, generously provided by Wawa, Giant Food Stores, Herr’s, Weis Market, and Weavers Way Co-Op.

“I’m incredibly grateful to our hosts at the Haverford YMCA for making this event possible, and to our generous sponsors who made this year’s Senior Fair a success,” Senator Cappelletti said.
