BETHLEHEM, November 20, 2020 — State Senator Lisa Boscola (D-Lehigh/Northampton) today issued the following statement on her decision to vote against the state budget bill:
“I voted against the budget. I do not often do this, but this budget is wrong. Federal CARES money was given to the state to help small businesses that are suffering through the pandemic. State government restricted many of these businesses and we have an obligation to help them. I view a vote for this budget as a vote against small businesses across Pennsylvania, especially restaurants, salons, gyms, hotels and non-profits that have done so much for our communities. We need to do better for them.”
