DELAWARE COUNTY, PA – June 12, 2025 – Senator Tim Kearney (D-Delaware) today announced a total of $950,000 in Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement (PHARE) funding to support several initiatives for six Delaware County housing programs impacting the 26th Senatorial District.
“I’m proud to see this funding come to Delaware County and my district,“ said Senator Kearney. ”From helping seniors to supporting first-time homebuyers and families in crisis, these investments provide people with real solutions and information that will help them and strengthen our communities. I’m grateful to the local organizations doing the work to ensure more of our neighbors have access to safe, stable housing and resources.”
Below is a list of the programs and services receiving PHARE funding in Senator Kearney’s district:
- Affordable Housing Centers of Pennsylvania was awarded $100,000 for its Will Power Program.
- Affordable Housing Centers of Pennsylvania was awarded $150,000 for its Comprehensive Housing Counseling initiative.
- Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. was awarded $150,000 for its Rent and Utility Assistance Program.
- Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County was awarded $100,000 for its Relocation and Housing Assistance Program.
- Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties was awarded $200,000 for its Home Rehabilitation initiative.
- Media Fellowship House was awarded $100,000 for its Community Resource Housing Hub.
- The Foundation for Delaware County was awarded $150,000 for its Tenancy Sustaining Services for At Risk Families initiative.
The grant funding was awarded from Marcellus Shale Impact Fees and Realty Transfer Taxes. A complete funding list, which includes grants for regional and statewide programs can be found online.
