Sen. Sharif Street (D-Philadelphia) released a statement of support for union members and workers after the announcement of the SCOTUS Janus decision:
“Today, I am standing strong with the working women and men of Pennsylvania to say that no court case is going to take away their union or stop the movement of working people. We must make it easier, not harder, for working men & women to come together for good wages and benefits. Today’s #SCOTUS decision, again, is a step in the wrong direction. Unions are essential to building the inclusive middle class our country needs. We must make it easier for working people to stand together. stand strong with working people, finding ways to allow more Pennsylvanians to join and form unions, rather than pursuing backward looking policies that strip workers of their power to come together and bargain for better wages, benefits and quality of life.”
