PHILADELPHIA – July 11, 2019 – Sen. Sharif Street (D-Philadelphia) will host a Violence Prevention Forum in response to the recent increase in gun violence across Philadelphia.

“The growing violence and increased shootings constitute a great time of challenge and controversy for our community. We want to endure the people have an opportunity to stand up and be counted so government can assist in making things better and not worse,” said Street.

Street will be joined at the event by Philadelphia Police Commissioner John Ross, State Reps. Jordan Harris (D- Philadelphia), Movita Johnson-Harrell (D- Philadlephia), Donna Bullock (D- Philadelphia), Joanna McClinton (D- Philadelphia), and Danilo Burgos (D- Philadephia). Community organizations Every Murder Is Real and North and Northwest Victim Services will also be in attendance.
