March 26, 2024 − Six transportation projects in the Lehigh Valley will receive more than $2.2 million from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Multimodal Transportation Fund, announced Sen. Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton).
“Investments in our transportation infrastructure are vital to the success of our communities,” said Miller. “As the fastest growing region in the commonwealth, our foundation needs consistent repairs to stay safe and dependable for our residents and visitors.”
The Borough of Bath will receive $245,000 to replace streetlights in the Old Forge Estates subdivision.
“On behalf of the administration of the borough of Bath, I extend our sincerest gratitude for the $245,000 grant for our Borough Streetlight Replacement Project for the Old Forge Estates neighborhood,” said Mayor of Bath Fiorella Reginelli Mirabito “We are incredibly thankful to Senator Miller, his staff and the Commonwealth Finance Authority. It’s a great feeling knowing that the little guys are not forgotten about – especially with such generosity extended to a small municipality.”
The Borough of Catasauqua was awarded $250,000 for streetscape improvements along Bridge Street and the Borough of Fountain Hill will receive $200,000 for streetscape and stormwater improvements along State Route 2002. The city of Allentown was awarded $250,000 to replace traffic signals at three intersections along 17th Street and the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority will receive $600,000 to construct an access road and intersection improvements. Finally, Whitehall Township was awarded $717,025 to repair bridges and roadway crossings along the Ironton Rail Trail.
