ROYERSFORD, September 15, 2026: State Sen. Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks) announced that 41 projects across Senate District 44 were awarded over $6.5 million in state grants through the statewide Local Share Account (LSA) program.
The projects, approved at a meeting of the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), were funded through the LSA-Statewide program which distributes gaming revenues to support public interest projects across Pennsylvania.
“The over $6.5 million in LSA grants announced today will provide such critical resources to communities across SD44 to improve our roads and bridges, strengthen sewer infrastructure, enhance our community parks, and ensure our first responders have the equipment necessary to serve and protect our communities,” Muth said. “I will continue to fight in Harrisburg to ensure that state investments come back to our district to improve the quality of life for our residents and ensure the safety of our communities.”
The following SD44 projects received LSA grant awards:
Chester County:
- North Coventry Municipal Authority received $530,125 for a sewer system rehabilitation project across the township.
- Valley Forge Sewer Authority received $500,000 toward the purchase and installation of an emergency backup generator and electrical switchgear at their wastewater treatment plant.
- Valley Forge Sewer Authority received $400,000 toward the purchase and installation of replacement control system panels and equipment at their wastewater treatment plant in Schuylkill Township.
- Honey Brook Borough received $300,000 for a roadway restoration project along Maple Street.
- North Coventry Water Authority received $300,000 toward the replacement of current leaking cast iron and leaded pipes with new iron pipes throughout their distribution system.
- East Brandywine Township received $280,600 for playground and park improvements at East Brandywine Community Park.
- Chester County, in partnership with Chester County Water Resources Authority, received $252,761 to expand detection capabilities, implement flood hazard signage on roadways, and traffic safety barriers for use during floods across twenty-seven municipalities.
- Ludwigs Corner Fire Company received $250,000 toward the renovation of Griffith Hall in West Vincent Township.
- Charleston Township received $250,000 toward the development of Jenkins Park located on Valley Hill Road.
- Sadsbury Township received $200,000 toward a project to replace the failing Compass Road Bridge.
- Keystone Valley Fire Department received $200,000 toward the purchase of a new fire engine for use in West Sadsbury Township.
- East Coventry Township received $192,907 for the rehabilitation of Ellis Woods Road Bridge which has been classified as in “poor” condition by PennDOT.
- Honey Brook Borough received $162,000 for the rehabilitation of a portion of Water Street from the intersection of Water and Maple Streets to the intersection of Water and Walnut Streets.
- Minquas Fire Company #2 received $100,000 for the purchase of cardiac monitor/defibrillator units for use in Caln Township.
- Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS received $100,000 toward the purchase of two quick response vehicles for use in Honey Brook Township.
- North Coventry Municipal Authority received $100,000 toward a roof replacement project at the wastewater treatment plant.
- Good Will Ambulance received $100,000 toward the purchase of a replacement ambulance for use in North Coventry Township.
- Parkesburg Borough received $100,000 toward the construction of a new public works garage.
- North Coventry Township received $100,000 toward the replacement of Laurelwood Road Bridge which has been closed to vehicular traffic due to unsafe conditions since 2024.
- East Brandywine Township Municipal Authority received $98,070 for the purchase of equipment to test wastewater influent and effluent.
- Honey Brook Borough Authority received $97,000 to repair and rehabilitate the Shirktown Road Water Tank.
- East Pikeland Township received $78,357 for the purchase of a new traffic enforcement vehicle.
- Ludwigs Corner Horse Show Association Foundation received $75,346 for the purchase and installation of a new community service entrance sign at the fairgrounds in West Vincent Township.
- North Coventry Municipal Authority received $75,000 for a project to relocate a sanitary sewer line due to the reconstruction of Bridge 311 on West Cedarville Road.
- Upper Uwchlan Township received $75,000 toward the purchase of a wheel loader for its Public Works Department.
- West Pikeland Township Police Department received $75,000 toward the purchase of two new patrol vehicles.
- West Pikeland Township received $75,000 toward the purchase of two public works trucks for road maintenance and snow removal operations.
- East Coventry Township received $65,045 for the purchase of a new police vehicle for the East Coventry Township Police Department.
- East Coventry Township received $55,000 toward the purchase of a new township utility truck to assist with road and park maintenance, construction projects, and snow removal.
- East Vincent Township received $50,000 toward the purchase of a new municipal truck and blower.
- Valley Forge Sewer Authority received $50,000 toward the purchase of a new sewer system service truck.
- West Caln Township received $50,000 toward the purchase of a dump truck for the Public Works department.
- West Vincent Township received $50,000 toward the purchase of a mid-size utility tractor and flail mower attachment for use by the Public Works department.
Montgomery County
- Upper Providence Township received $300,000 toward the construction of a new fleet storage building at the Township’s Public Works campus.
- Lower Providence Township received $200,000 toward the construction of a public works building.
- Lower Providence Township received $200,000 toward the upgrade of Redtail Park.
- Montgomery County received $75,000 toward the construction of a permanent mausoleum-like structure to increase dignified long-term storage for abandoned and unclaimed human remains in Lower Providence Township.
Berks County
- Union Township received $162,080 for the purchase of a new truck for the Public Works Department.
- Berks County received $75,000 for the replacement of an aging hazardous materials response vehicle
- Birdsboro-Union Fire Department received $77,773 for the purchase of a new brush truck to help emergency responders navigate dense forest, steep terrain, and limited access roads.
- Birdsboro Borough received $55,541for the purchase of a new pickup truck for day-to-day operations by the borough
The LSA-Statewide program is funded through distribution of gaming revenues to support projects in the public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
