ROYERSFORD, December 11, 2024: State Sen. Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks) today announced that entities across Senate District 44 have been awarded nearly $3.5 million in funding through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
“This funding will be incredibly impactful across SD44 by ensuring all victims are supported and that our counties can continue to provide quality services necessary to improve outcomes for victims of all ages and to strengthen our probation and parole systems,” Muth said. “I appreciate the hard work of our local and county government partners and our regional network of service providers for continuing to seek out state and federal funding that supports the needs of families and individuals across our region.”
The PCCD met today to approve funding from several different state and federal programs. The following initiatives were funded across Chester, Montgomery and Berks Counties:
Chester County
Continuing County Adult Probation and Parole Grant Funds
- Chester County received $563,844 to support county adult probation and parole staffing needs and to improve probation services and programming for offenders.
Federal Victims of Crime Act, State Rights and Services Act, and State Victims of Juvenile Offenders Funds
- The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County received $331,681 in funding for their Rights and Services Act and the Victims of Juvenile Offenders 2025-26 programs.
- The Domestic Violence Center of Chester County received $26,126 to provide services for survivors of domestic violence.
State Children’s Advocacy Center Funds
- Chester County received $47,000 for the county Children’s Advocacy Center assistant.
State Medical Marijuana Enforcement Act Funds
- Phoenixville Borough received $23,144 for drug recognition expert training.
Montgomery County
Continuing County Adult Probation and Parole Grant Funds
- Montgomery County received $738,315 to support county adult probation and parole staffing needs and to improve probation services and programming for offenders.
Federal Victims of Crime Act, State Rights and Services Act, and State Victims of Juvenile Offenders Funds
- Montgomery County received $353,516 for the Rights and Services Act and the Victims of Juvenile Offenders funds for the District Attorney’s Office.
- Victim Services Center of Montgomery County received $135,035 for the Rights and Service Act.
- Montgomery County also received $111,032 for Victims of Juvenile Offenders and the Juvenile Probation Office.
- The Women’s Center of Montgomery County received $32,595 for the Domestic Violence Legal Advocacy Project
State Endowment Act Prevention Funds
- The Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County received $200,000 for the county’s Project Safe and Smart.
Children’s Advocacy Center Funds
- The Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County received $47,000 for NCA accredited services for victims of child abuse.
Berks County
Continuing County Adult Probation and Parole Grant Funds
- Berks County received $453,462 to support county adult probation and parole staffing needs and to improve probation services and programming for offenders.
Federal Victims of Crime Act, State Rights and Services Act, and State Victims of Juvenile Offenders Funds
- Berks County received $354,782 for the District Attorney’s Victim/Witness Assistance Unit.
Children’s Advocacy Center Funds
- Berks County received $47,000 for the Children’s Advocacy Center director salary and operational expenses.
