SB 89 PN 44 (Mastriano): Amends the Overdose Mapping Act to require the PA Department of Health to submit data related to a known or suspected overdose already reported by EMS providers through existing networks to the overdose information network system under the Pennsylvania State Police. Senator Muth offered Amendment A00712, which would provide that an EMS Provider may report directly to the overdose information network but is not required to if the EMS elects to report through its EMS system.
The amendment was tabled by a vote of 27-22 and the bill was approved 49-0.
SB 377 PN 323 (Phillips-Hill): Requires state contracts to utilize National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards for information technology-related contracts which detail best practices and guidelines for internet security. Senator Phillips-Hill offered amendment A00761 which clarifies the bill to require procurement of end point devices to meet national or widely adopted certifications, security standards, industry best practices for computer security or the National Institute of Standards and Technology guidelines.
The amendment was adopted 27-22 and the bill went over as amended.
SB 411 PN 510 (Vogel): Amends the Stroke System of Care Act by providing the Department of Health (DOH) the ability to create and utilize a stroke registry.
The bill was approved 49-0.

SR 27 PN 290 (Brown): Directs g the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a study as to the feasibility of establishing a no-fault catastrophic loss fund to provide payment for claims brought as the result of birth-related neurological injuries in Pennsylvania. Senator Brown offered Amendment A00884, which expands the scope of the study
