HB 131, PN 857 (Jozwiak) – The bill amends the Liquor Code by further providing for the definition of alcoholic cider. Senator DiSanto offered amendment A02559 which would add a subsection to allow the holder of a limited winery located in a class 2A through 8 county to use a loudspeaker or similar device if the sound does not exceed 75 decibels beyond the licensee’s property line. The amendments also sets time parameters for when the regulations apply. The amendment was agreed to by a voice vote and the bill went over in its order.
SB 147, PN 1066 (Laughlin) – The bill amends Title 34 (game), allowing for hunting on Sundays and increases the penalties for trespassing while hunting. A vote of 36-14 was recorded.
HB 235, PN 877 (Toohil) – Expressly permits designated employees of correctional facilities to witness voluntary terminations of parental rights. Senator Gordner offered amendment A02587 which increases the amount of the federally-mandated fee for obtaining a support order from $25 to $35 from an individual who never received federal foster care/adoption assistance and for whom the Commonwealth collected at least $550/yr in support (increased from $500/yr). These provisions have an immediate effective date and expire July 15, 2023. The amendment also makes changes regarding child day-care centers, group day-care homes and family childcare homes in response to Federal law changes to avoid a penalty (up to 4%) of the Child Care and Development Block Grant Fund discretionary funds. The amendment was agreed to by a voice vote and the bill went over in its order.
