SB 432, PN 935 (Pennycuick) – This bill amends the Public School Code expanding the Fostering Independence Tuition Waiver Program to nonresident students who attend a PASSHE school. Senator Pennycuick offered amendment A1196, which adds language pertaining to eligibility of waivers, provides for program guidelines, and postpones the start date for an institution to provide waivers to 2027. The amendment was approved, 48-0.
SB 784, PN 808 (Mastriano) – This bill amends Title 62 (Procurement) to require the Department of General Services, when purchasing American or Pennsylvania flags, that the flags be “Made in America.” A vote of 48-0 was recorded.
SB 914, PN 1090 (Farry) – This bill amends Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) consolidating the provisions of the Scrap Material Theft Prevention Act into Title 18. Senator Fary offered amendment A1835, which makes technical changes to the bill. The amendment was approved, 48-0.
