SB 331, PN 1426 (Argall) – This bill authorizes the Commonwealth to join the Cosmetology Licensure Compact. A vote of 49-0 was recorded.
SB 614, PN 1285 (Brooks) – This bill amends the Fiscal Code to establish the FQHC primary care workforce initiative within the Department of Health. The FQHC primary care workforce initiative is a voluntary program offering clinical rotation placement at an FQHC for students attending an accredited medical college. Senator Brooks offered amendment A2719. This amendment replaces the FQHC primary care workforce initiative established in the bill with the facilitating entity primary care workforce initiative, and expands participation in the primary care workforce initiative beyond FQHCs to include rural hospitals, rural health clinics, and FQHC look-alikes. The amendment passed by a vote of 26-23. The bill went over in its order as amended.
SB 1210, PN 1498 (Gebhard, Street) – This bill amends the Insurance Department Act of 1912 codifying authority over pre-licensure education for insurance agents. A vote of 49-0 was recorded.
