SB 64, PN 509 (Bartolotta) – This bill amends Title 51 (Military Affairs) to require the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to design an official Commonwealth logo for veteran-owned businesses and to create an application process for issuance. Senator Bartolotta offered amendment A00995, which permits a fee for the use and display of the logo and provides for the development of an online database of businesses. The amendment was approved by a vote of 38-12 and the bill was re-referred to Appropriations.
SB 95, PN 50 (Phillips-Hill) – This bill amends the Pharmacy Act permitting EMS providers to leave a dose of naloxone with a caregiver of a patient who has overdosed. Senator Hughes offered amendment A00975, which provides for prescription drug pricing disclosure. The amendment was approved, 50-0, and the bill went over in its order as amended.
SB 511, PN 471 (Mastriano) – This bill amends Title 35 (Holidays and Observances) to recognize July 27th as Korean War Armistice Day. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.
SB 649, PN 705 (Pennycuick/Kane) – This bill establishes the offense of digital forgery (i.e., “deepfakes”) including the knowing creation, generation, distribution and/or facilitation of a digital likeness with the intent to defraud or injure another. Senator Pennycuick offered amendment A00963, which makes a clarification to cover protected speech. The amendment was approved by a vote of 47-3 and the bill went over in its order as amended.
SB 748, PN 760 (Farry) – This bill amends a supplementary act to the Board of Wardens for the Port of Philadelphia Act (Act 210 of 1889) to increase rates of pilotage and computation and pilotage fees. Senator Farry offered amendment A00996 which made a technical change to the legislation. The amendment was approved, and the bill was re-referred to Appropriations.
