SB 116, PN 1351 (Argall) – Amends the Public School Code to provide for an elective credit for employment at a congregate care facility. Senator Argall offered amendment A02295, which adds two additional places to the definition of “congregate care facility.” The amendment was agreed to via voice vote and the bill was re-referred to the Committee on Appropriations.
SB 1014, PN 1352 (Robinson) – Amends the Public School Code to require schools to adopt a policy banning students’ use of mobile devices during the entire school day. Senator Robinson offered amendment A02404, which clarifies that schools are not required to adopt a policy that requires a school to take possession of a mobile device. If a school enacts a policy, the school is not responsible for a damaged or lost device if the employee acted in good faith to secure the device. The amendment was approved by a vote of 49-0 and the bill was re-referred to the Committee on Appropriations.
SB 327, PN 1360 (Gebhard) – Amends Title 53 (Municipalities Generally) to allow Fort Indiantown Gap police officers to receive and maintain Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission (MOEPTC) certification. The Senate concurred in amendments made by the House by a vote of 49-0.
