HARRISBURG, March 16, 2018 – Sen. Larry Farnese (D-Philadelphia) announced that Triple Bottom Brewing Company and Alliance HSP Philadelphia, two growing businesses in his district, have received grant and loan funding to support economic development projects in the area.
Triple Bottom Brewing Company has received a $400,000 loan to assist with the start-up of their brewery. The First Industries loan will be used to purchase necessary machinery and equipment.
“I am happy to see another brewery starting up in Philadelphia,” said Farnese. “This is an industry that is great for tourism and the local economy.”
Farnese, who worked to helped to promote the craft beer industry with the Pennsylvania Pursue Your Hoppiness project, said that he is proud that Pennsylvania’s craft beer industry continues to grow as an economic generator.
Alliance HSP Philadelphia received a $450,000 Solar Energy Program grant to help with the construction of a roof-top solar energy array at the new Philadelphia retail destination, SoNo.
“It is great to see a business that will benefit the Philadelphia economy also working to be environmentally responsible,” Farnese said. “Investing in solar energy is great for Philadelphia’s communities, businesses, and the environment.”
The solar array constructed at SoNo will be one of the largest in Philadelphia and will generate 943,800 kWh of electricity per year, lessening the location’s dependence on traditional fossil fueled electricity.
