SB 1273, PN 1610 (Bartolotta) – This bill clarifies information sharing between the Turnpike Commission and law enforcement to address Amber Alerts. A vote of 48-2 was recorded.
SR 326, PN 1840 (Mastriano) – Resolution urging Congress to award the Congressional Medal of Honor to Pennsylvania native Maj. Richard Winters for his WWII service and leadership.
Senator Mastriano offered amendment A03920 which changes ‘award’ to ‘recommend awarding. The amendment was agreed to by a voice vote.
SB 482, PN 1801 (Laughlin) – Seeks to promote and expand the LIFE program by ensuring that applicants are educated as to the requirements and eligibility for programs offered by LIFE program organizations and older adult daily living center programs. Additionally, the Department is tasked with continued training of the Independent Enrollment Broker in an effort to ensure that the LIFE program is offered equally to eligible individuals. A vote of 27-23 was recorded.
SB 911, PN 1283 (Picozzi) – An Act amending Title 44 (Law and Justice) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for miscellaneous provisions and for violent incident clearance and technological investigative methods; establishing the Violent Incident Clearance and Technological Investigative Methods Program; and imposing duties on the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
Senator Picozzi offered amendment A03938 which does the following:
- Changes the purpose of the grant to remove any references to “hiring” and focusing on “retaining and training of existing personnel” throughout the bill.
- Adds a paragraph that directs the commission to use money from the appropriations for violence intervention and prevention to award grants under this chapter.
The amendment passed by a vote of 49-1.
