June 17, 2026 − State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) announced today that multiple organizations working on affordable and attainable housing projects in Bucks County have received three million dollars in state grants.
“It has become unaffordable for many to live and work or retire in the 10th Senate District,” said Senator Santarsiero “and nowhere is that more evident than in our lack of affordable housing stock. These projects address the crisis in housing we are facing, from building new affordable homes, to transitioning individuals experiencing homelessness into permanent affordable housing, and helping new homeowners navigate buying a home and preventing foreclosure. We’re lucky to have organizations in Bucks County who are working tirelessly to make finding housing and homeownership an attainable goal for our neighbors.”
These grants are made available through the Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement (PHARE) Fund, which is managed by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency. Since 2012, the program has received a portion of the impact fees collected from natural gas companies operating in Pennsylvania to address the housing shortage caused by the impact of drilling. Funding is also provided through the state’s Realty Transfer Tax.
