June 5, 2026 – Senator Nick Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton) announced that Casa Guadalupe’s Jesus Ramos Senior Center has been awarded a $101,324 grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Aging’s Senior Community Center Capital Improvement and Renovation Grant Program.

The funding is part of a statewide $3 million investment supporting 422 Senior Community Centers across Pennsylvania. The grants help ensure older adults have access to safe, welcoming community spaces where they can receive essential services, stay active, and remain connected to their communities.

Funded through the Pennsylvania Lottery and appropriated by the General Assembly, the competitive grant program supports major facility upgrades, technology improvements, nutrition services, and other enhancements that strengthen senior centers and expand opportunities for older Pennsylvanians.

“Casa Guadalupe’s Senior Center is a cornerstone for many of our seniors, providing essential services, meaningful connections, and the support they need to age with dignity,” said Senator Miller. “This investment strengthens a vital community resource that helps older residents remain independent, engaged, and connected. When we support our seniors, we strengthen families, improve quality of life, and build a healthier, more vibrant community for everyone.”

“We extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to the State for believing in the mission of our center, in the dignity of our seniors, and in the importance of investing in communities that have too often gone underserved,” said Giselle Espada, Senior Center Manager at Casa Guadalupe. “This transformational investment is more than a grant — it is a promise to our elders that they are seen, valued, respected, and worthy of spaces and services that allow them to age with dignity, purpose, and joy. For many of the seniors we serve, Casa Guadalupe is more than a center — it is family. It is a place where isolation is replaced with connection, where depression is met with hope, where meals become moments of fellowship, and where culture, laughter, wellness, and healing come together every single day.”
