SB 45, PN 1759 (Dush) – An Act amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in human trafficking, further providing for definitions, providing for the offense of promoting prostitution, for the offense of living off of prostituted persons and for the offense of patronizing prostitution and further providing for grants; in public indecency, further providing for prostitution and related offenses; and establishing the Prevention of Human Trafficking Account. Senator Dush offered amendment A03433 which is a technical amendment to remove paragraph e.2 from 18 Pa. C.S. § 5902 that was added back in A03395. The amendment was agreed to by a voice vote, and the bill went over in its order.

SB 1236, PN 1547 (Keefer) – Amends the Clean Streams Law allowing for a waiver of storm water discharge requirements for certain construction sites. A vote of 30-20 was recorded.

SB 1279, PN 1756 (Phillips-Hill) – Requires agencies to update their permit application procedures, establish standards & procedures for permit applicants to hire third-party reviewers for expediting permitting timelines, provide further recommendations for improving the permitting process, establish simultaneous rather than sequential review for permits over multiple agencies & levels of government, and fully digitize applications and fee payments. It further establishes a Commonwealth Housing Regulatory Compliance Officer within the Office of Transformation and Opportunity. A vote of 30-20 was recorded.

SB 1281, PN 1760 (Rothman) – Amends the Municipalities Planning Code (MPC) to add Section 707.1 – Expedited High Density Housing Approval – requiring the governing body of a municipality to issue a land use decision detailing pre-approved housing developments that may be constructed on specified types of lots and parcels. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SR 244, PN 1691 (Pennycuick) – A Resolution directing the Joint State Government Commission to examine and ascertain inadequacies in state statutes relating to advancements in technology, including but not limited to, artificial intelligence, that affects efforts relating to child protection, and the offense of child sexual abuse material, and recommend changes. The resolution was adopted.
