ROYERSFORD, January 20, 2026: State Sen. Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks) today announced that projects across Senate District 44 were awarded nearly $8 million in state grants to support transportation projects and upgrade sanitary sewer infrastructure throughout Chester and Montgomery Counties.
The funding was approved this morning at a meeting of the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) through the Multimodal Transportation Fund program and the PA Small Water and Sewer program.
“As our region continues to grow, investing state resources in critical local infrastructure is more important than ever. This nearly $8 million allocation of state grants will help improve traffic flow and road safety, modernize wastewater treatment facilities, and strengthen stormwater management across SD44,” Muth said. “I was proud to advocate for these investments alongside our House delegation, and I am grateful to our local officials who ensure our communities are ready to leverage state funding to meet local needs.”
The following projects in SD44 received over $4.2 million in grant funding through the CFA Multimodal Transportation Fund:
Chester County
- Caln Township received $1.3 million toward the reconstruction of Caln Meetinghouse Road Bridge.
- Main Line Hospitals received $532,617 for roadway, intersection, and pedestrian infrastructure improvements at the Downingtown Health Center in Caln Township.
- Parkesburg Borough received $469,004 to repave a section of 5th Ave.
- East Whiteland Township received $400,000 for roadway improvements on Route 30 and Sproul Rd.
- Phoenixville Hospital received $350,000 to complete sidewalk repairs in Phoenixville Borough.
- Spring City Borough received $291,660 for roadway and sidewalk improvements along Hall St.
- Schuylkill Township received $124,000 for engineering associated with intersection improvements at SR 1036 and SR 1019.
- Uwchlan Township received $120,569 for pedestrian safety improvements at the intersection of Whitford Rd. and Lori Cir.
Montgomery County
- Acquisition Corp. Holding received $500,000 for road improvements along S. Collegeville Rd. at the intersection with Perkiomen Blvd in Upper Providence Township.
- Royersford Borough received $139,025 for streetscape improvements along Main St. between 6th Ave. and 7th Ave.
The following projects in SD44 received over $3.7 million in grant funding through the PA Small Water and Sewer Program:
Chester County
- Uwchlan Township Municipal Authority received $500,000 for the Eagleview Wastewater Treatment Plant Diversion project.
- Honey Brook Borough Authority received $350,000 for the Well #8 Treatment Plant upgrade project.
- Schuylkill Township received $329,800 for the Jug Hollow Rd. Stormwater Improvement Project.
- Valley Forge Sewer Authority received $305,000 for the Snyder Ave. Sewer Extension project.
- West Pikeland Township received $276,486 for the Pikeland Road Drainage Project.
- Wallace Township Municipal Authority received $275,000 for a sand filter replacement project.
- Honey Brook Borough received $245,750 for the James Street Stormwater Infrastructure Rehabilitation project.
- Elverson Borough Municipal Authority received $200,815 for the Saddler Sewage Pump Station No. 4 improvement project.
- North Coventry Municipal Authority received $165,000 for a Wastewater Treatment Plant improvement project.
- North Coventry Municipal Authority received $120,175 for the Bridge 311: Sanitary Sewer Relocation Project.
- Caln Township Municipal Authority received $105,000 for Phase 2 of the Scott Drive Sewer Extension project.
- North Coventry Municipal Authority received $65,232 for a Wastewater Pumping Stations Security Fencing project.
Montgomery County
- Lower Providence Township Sewer Authority received $400,776 for the Audubon Road Pumping Station Sewer and Manhole Replacement project.
- Upper Providence Township received $400,000 for the Linfield Trappe Sprouse Circle Sanitary Sewer Extension project.
The CFA Multimodal Transportation Program provides grants to ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to Commonwealth residents. The program is intended to provide financial assistance to improve transportation assets that enhance communities, pedestrian safety, and transit revitalization.
The PA Small Water and Sewer Program awards grants for projects that assist with the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply system, sanitary sewer system, storm sewer system, or flood control projects.
