SB 290, PN 1171 (Rafferty) – The legislation strengthens ignition interlock requirements under current law for those who have committed Driving under the Influence (DUI) violations. A vote of 47-0 was recorded.
HB 315, PN 322 (Ellis) – This bill amends the Child Labor Act to allow youth as young as 12 to be employed as an umpire or referee. A vote of 47-0 was recorded.
HB 823, PN 2036 (Greiner) – This bill amends the Local Tax Collection Law to remove the continuing education components of Act 164 of last session. It would also remove several other components designed to decrease fraud and conflicts of interest, increase oversight, and bring greater professionalism to tax collecting in PA. Senator Brooks offered amendment A03340, which further provides for mandatory continuing education for tax collectors. The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over in its order as amended.
SR 55, PN 653 (Hutchinson) – This is a concurrent resolution to reinstate a legislative Forestry Task Force, which would fall under the administration of the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee. The Senate adopted the resolution, 47-0.
SB 663, PN 1156 (Vulakovich) – This bill amends Title 23 (Domestic Relations) Chapter 53 (relating to child custody) to provide for custody matters and support matters when the child is conceived as a result of certain sexual offenses. The Senate concurred in amendments made by the House to the bill by a vote of 47-0.
SB 678, PN 1121 (Smucker) – This bill clarifies arrest powers and jurisdiction of campus police officers. The Senate concurred in amendments made by the House to the bill by a vote of 47-0.
