SR 258, PN 1439 (Williams) – This resolution urges Congress to remove marijuana as a Schedule I controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act. Senator Costa offered amendment A06899, which urges Congress to reschedule marijuana to protect the Second Amendment rights of participants in a state-sanctioned medical marijuana program to legally own a firearm. The amendment was approved 46-0 and the resolution went over in its order as amended.
