HARRISBURG, PA – September 14, 2022 − Today, State Senator Vincent Hughes (D-Montgomery/Philadelphia) announced the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) has awarded $2,553,222 to more than a dozen organizations in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties. Statewide, PCCD awarded $10,970,767.
PCCD awards grants throughout the year to public safety and justice programs across the commonwealth, which help ensure our communities remain safe and secure. This latest round of awards was announced virtually Wednesday morning.
“The recipients of these awards are doing vital work in our community, from tackling important issues like human trafficking and child sex abuse prevention, to inspiring young people to go down the right path and avoid a life filled with violence, or spent behind bars,” said Senator Hughes. “I applaud PCCD for its continued investment in these groups, and I look forward to seeing the impact these grants will have on all they are able to accomplish.”
Organizations awarded grants in Senator Hughes’ district are listed below:
MONTGOMERY COUNTY
- Montgomery Child Advocacy Project was awarded $100,000 for its Child Victims of Sexual abuse Advocacy Program.
- Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County was awarded $76,777 toward its efforts to prevent human trafficking of runaway minors.
- Family Services of Montgomery County was awarded $249,686 for its Montgomery Co. Racial Justice Improvement Project.
- The Lincoln Center for Family and Youth was awarded $250,000 for support and training for justice practitioners.
- YWCA Tri-County Area was awarded $249,680 for violence prevention for boys.
- Women’s Center of Montgomery County was awarded $144,583 for its Domestic Violence High-Risk Intervention efforts.
- Family Services of Montgomery County was awarded $15,000 for its Montgomery County Strategic Plan.
PHILADELPHIA
- Support Center for Child Advocate was awarded $99,361 for enhanced advocacy for child victims of sexual abuse.
- Temple University was awarded $104,999 for development of a trauma informed out-of-school program.
- Support Center for Child Advocate was awarded $249,853 for its Child Advocates Resilience Education project.
- The Salvation Army was awarded $249,902 for its New Day to Stop Trafficking Mobile Response.
- JEVS Human Services was awarded $160,799 for its Untapped Talent program.
- Anti-Drug and Alcohol Crusaders, Inc. was awarded $250,000 for its Philly Youth Leading Positive Lives program.
- The Office of Attorney General was awarded $282,428 for 2022 Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) – EDPA.
- Thomas Jefferson University was awarded $70,154 for the Jefferson Police Department BWC (Body Worn Cameras.)
