SB 243, PN 208 (Argall) – Requires the Department of Human Services to check death certificates at the Bureau of Vital Statistics against recipients of Medical Assistance and benefits from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) monthly. A vote of 28-21 was recorded.

SB 244, PN 685 (Argall) – Requires the Department of Human Services to check wage records held by employers and the Department of Revenue against recipient Medical Assistance (MA) and benefits from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) on a quarterly basis. A vote of 28-21 was recorded.

SB 245, PN 210 (Argall) – Amends the Human Services Code by requiring the Department of Human Services to issue an annual report detailing information about lottery winnings of individuals receiving public assistance. A vote of 28-21 was recorded.

SB 598, PN 636 (Baker) – Amends Section 5781 of Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) to extend the sunset date for Chapter 57 (Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance) until December 31, 2029. A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

SB 671, PN 671 (Farry) – Amends the Local Tax Enabling Act and repeals the Sterling Act of 1932. The bill places Philadelphia’s taxing authority in the Local Tax Enabling Act, place new limits on who and when wage earners are subject to the tax, and requires Philadelphia to “reimburse” resident school districts and municipalities under a regulatory framework created by DCED and PDE.

Senator Boscola offered amendment A00467 which requires that all reimbursements received by a municipality or school district must be used by the municipality or school district to reduce homestead or farmstead property tax relief. The amendment was laid on the table by a vote of 27-22. The bill was approved by a vote of 28-21.
