SB 579 PN 1605 (Greenleaf): This bill consolidates several statutes into Title 44 (Law and Justice) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes and renames Title 44 as the Law and Justice Code. Several other titles are amended for the purpose of updating references relating to provisions added to Title 44. The bill was approved with a vote of 48-0.
HB 794 PN 3092 (Gillespie): This bill amends the County Code to increase the maximum allowable hotel tax rate from 3% to 5% in 2nd through 8th class counties and institutes reforms to the remittance process and tourist promotion agency certification and decertification process. Senator Ward offered Amendment A06524, which makes technical amendments to the bill. The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended.
SB 973 PN 1667 (Scavello): This bill amends Titles 18 (Crimes and Offenses) and 75 (Vehicles) to further provide for the offense of scattering rubbish; in registration of vehicles and in licensing of drivers, further providing for the acknowledgment of littering provisions; and, in miscellaneous provisions, further providing for the offense of depositing of waste and other material on highway, property or waters. The bill was approved with a vote of 48-0.
HB 1340 PN 1822 (White): This bill amends the Pennsylvania Uniform Planned Community Act and the Uniform Condominium Act under Title 68 (Real and Personal Property) by bringing the acts in line with federal underwriting standards and offers clarifying language when providing for leased units as well as judgments and liens in planned communities. The bill was approved with a vote of 48-0.
