SB 8 PN 719 (Folmer): This bill amends Title 4 (Amusements), Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses), Title 30 (Fish), Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure), and Title 75 (Vehicles) to address the seizure and forfeiture of property that is related to criminal offenses. Senator Street offered Amendment A00983, which would remove the civil asset forfeiture provision and replace the measure with a criminal forfeiture provision. The amendment was defeated, 16-33. Senator Street offered Amendment A00984, which would move the revenue generated through the sale of forfeited property to the municipality in which the property was collected. The amendment was defeated, 13-36. Senator Street offered Amendment A00986, which would add provisions to allow a person contesting a forfeiture of assets case to have the right to council in the civil proceedings. The amendment was defeated, 15-34. The bill was approved 39-10.

SB 25 PN 314 (Bartolotta): This bill amends The Professional Nursing Law by providing for licensure of certified nurse practitioners in the Commonwealth.  The bill was approved 38-11. Senator Corman motioned to reconsider the vote by which Senate Bill 25 was passed. The motion was agreed to and the bill was passed with a final vote of 39-10.

SB 399 PN 399 (Gordner): The bill clarifies that a 2nd class township supervisor may hold an elected and appointed position within the township. The bill was approved 49-0.

SB 222 PN 549 (Greenleaf): This bill amends Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) in organization and jurisdiction of courts of common pleas, further providing for courts of common pleas. Senator Tomlinson offered Amendment A00538, which removes an exemption to the selection of judges within this bill and removes the start date of the new judgeships created by this legislation. The amendment was agreed to. Senator Baker offered Amendment A00746, which would add a provision to allow the “additional judgeship added” by this bill to be established on January 2, 2022. The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended.

SR 6 PN 569 (Vulakovich): This resolution establishes a bipartisan, bicameral legislative commission to study Fire and EMS related issues. The Senate concurred in the House amendments, 49-0.
