HB 165 PN 129 (Saccone):  This bill amends Title 51 to create two new military decorations The Pennsylvania Achievement Medal and The Pennsylvania Veterans Service Award.  The bill was approved by a vote of 49-0.

SB 251 PN 1316 (Vulakovich): This bill Amends the Vehicle Code, to allow for the use of radar by local police departments. The bill was approved by a vote of 46-3.

SB 629 PN 709 (Reschenthaler): The bill amends the law regarding fraudulent transfers—the act of moving property to a third-party entity in order to shield the asset from creditors. It amends current law on fraudulent transfers, changing it to “voidable transactions,” clarifies standards of proof required for those making claims, enumerates governing law for debtors, and defines series organizations. The bill was approved by a vote of 49-0.

SB 826 PN 1036 (Scavello): This bill authorizes the Department of General Services to convey land to the Monroe County Municipal Waste Management Authority. The bill was approved by a vote of 49-0.

SB 837 PN 1099 (Ward): An Act designating a portion of State Route 981 in Smithton Borough and South Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, as the Specialist 4 William J. Kolenc Memorial Highway. The bill was approved by a vote of 49-0.

SB 894 PN 1294 (White): An Act designating a portion of State Route 2005 in Saxonburg Borough, Butler County, as the “Chief Gregory B. Adams Way,” and also makes several other road and bridge designations. The bill was approved by a vote of 49-0.

SB 723 PN 1039 (Rafferty): The legislation amends the Public School Code to require the curriculum for social studies to contain a unit of study that includes civics-related subject matter of which naturalized citizens are required to demonstrate a knowledge.  Senator Rafferty offered amendment A04634, which would require schools to provide civics instructions and administer the test used by the US Citizenship and Immigration services to students.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill as amended was agreed to.

SR 5 PN 1253 (Boscola): This resolution establishes a Task Force on Women’s Veterans’ Health Care to address the needs of our growing female veteran population in the Commonwealth.  The resolution was adopted, by voice vote.
