SB 100, PN 1329 (Greenleaf) – This legislation Amends the Judicial Code, Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, and the Prisons and Parole Code, Title 61, to make changes relating to the powers and duties of the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing; provide for sanctions for probation violations; modify the eligibility requirements for alternative sentencing and pre-release programs; establish a comprehensive reentry program; and make criminal justice appropriations.  Senator Greenleaf offered amendment A05494, which includes Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) to the list of statues that the bill amends; provides for further definition of “burglary”, its felony classification and exceptions; and provides for the adoption and administration of local rules.  The Senate agreed to the amendment and the bill went over in its order.

SB 354, PN 1354 (Folmer) – This legislation creates the REAL ID Nonparticipating Act which would exempt Pennsylvania from participating in the Federal REAL ID law.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 367, PN 1581 (White, D.) – This bill is known as the “Indigenous Mineral Resources Development Act” and imposes certain powers on the Department of General Services and the State System of Higher Education (SSHE) when it comes to the development of minerals on state-owned land. Senator Don White offered amendment A05515, which is technical in nature. The Senate agreed to the amendment and the bill went over in its order.

HB 389, PN 353 (Watson) – This bill designates a bridge in Bucks County. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 449, PN 432 (Vance) – This legislation amends the Public School Code by establishing a child abuse recognition and reporting program, by consulting the Department of Education, within the Department of Public Welfare.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 743, PN 756 (Rafferty) – This legislation amends Section 1519 (relating to teaching of Safe Driving of Motor Vehicles) of the Public School Code of 1949 to provide an exemption from certification for driver education teachers. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 834, PN 852 (Eichelberger) – This act amends Title 16 (Counties) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, adding provisions for required fiscal security through bonding, blanket bonding and insuring of elected and appointed county officers and employees; providing for determining the form, amount and payment of premiums for and the filing and recording of the required security and for the subsequent issuance of official commissions; and making related repeals. Senator Eichelberger offered amendment A05249, which is technical in nature. The Senate agreed to the amendment and the bill went over in its order.
