DEFENDED
ABORTION ACCESS &
REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH IN PA
Senate Democrats took our fight for women’s health across the Commonwealth. We introduced laws and amendments to preserve women’s rights, bodily autonomy, and access to healthcare.
We fought back against deceptive and politically motivated Republican legislation. And we lifted up the voices of experts and advocates in policy hearings and out in our communities.
CREATED
A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR WHOLE
HOME REPAIRS PROGRAM
Initially proposed by Senator Saval, the Whole-Home Repairs Program will provide financial assistance for Pennsylvania homeowners to repair and weatherize their homes. Senate Democrats worked hard to make the $125 million dollar program a reality for Pennsylvanians.
DELIVERED
OVER A BILLION DOLLARS IN HISTORIC
EDUCATION FUNDING FOR STUDENTS ACROSS PA
Highlights include:

EXPANDED
SCHOOL SAFETY GRANTS TO SUPPORT MENTAL HEALTH AND SECURITY IN SCHOOLS
$190 Million was made available in the state’s budget to specifically address mental health initiatives and physical security enhancements in schools for the 2022-2023 academic year. Senate Democrats made clear increased funding for schools and safety was a top priority, even before the budget process got underway. Now, the Commonwealth estimates 784 eligible schools will receive these grants.
CONTINUED
TO FIGHT FOR ELECTION INTEGRITY
AND VOTER PROTECTIONS
In the legislature and in the courts, Senate Democrats fought against numerous efforts to undermine access to voting and the legitimacy of votes. Free and fair elections are the foundation of our democracy- we won’t stop defending Pennsylvanians voting rights and freedoms.
KEPT
PENNSYLVANIANS IN THEIR HOMES WITH THE LAUNCH OF THE PENNSYLVANIA HOMEOWNER ASSISTANCE FUND (PHAF)
Over $350 Million was allocated to the PHAF to help homeowners who are facing financial hardship due to the pandemic. The fund provides eligible homeowners with support in easing mortgage delinquencies, defaults, foreclosures, displacement and utility disconnection.
SUPPORTED
IMPROVED ACCESS AND DISTRIBUTION OF MEDICAL MARIJUANA IN PA
In late 2022, the final version of Pennsylvania’s medical marijuana law was approved, ensuring safer products and better service at dispensaries across the Commonwealth.
